Kindergarten painted designs on canvas using acrylic paint. Kindergarten students used acrylic paint to create six designs based on a variety of animals from the ocean (fish, sea turtle, octopus, seahorse, shark, and stingray).
First Grade painted ceramic glaze to small pieces of clay tiles to create mosaics based on M.C. Eshcer's tessellation designs (with the exception of the primary parrots).
Second Grade used acrylic paint to paint designs on linoleum floor mats. The designs were based famous modern abstract artists (Miro, Harring, Klee, Johns, Mondrian, and Kandinsky).
Third Grade students painted designs using ceramic glaze to a variety of bisque ware (UK basketball nightlight, McCracken County basketball nightlight, snowman nightlight that says "Snow Day", an elf bowl with snowflakes inside, Winnie the Pooh with honey jar, and a very large coffee jar based on two artists - Jim Dine and Robert Indiana).
As a bonus/grand finally piece, the entire student body (K-3) painted a "School Wide Canvas" and each 3rd Grade class create 12" glass bowl designs using glass fusing techniques.
